Any info on Logic X and the latest fusion drives?

I'm thinking of getting a new iMac (Retina 5K) with 3TB fusion drive.

Has anyone got any experience with these? I know that there were issues with fusion drives which they say mavericks has sorted, just wondered if there is any first hand experience here.

Alternative would be to get a Flash drive for OS and an external thunderbolt drive for audio, but i'd prefer to keep it all on board ideally.

Hi Pete, I've been using a 3TB fusion drive iMac since January with no problems ever since the first update to Mavericks.

I'm using Yosemite now with no problems with the drive at all.

The issues were cleared up with updates.

Just have your projects on an external drive, then there shouldn't be an issue.

    That's good to know, thanks.

I was wondering - is there an indicator anywhere of when files are using the Flash drive? Or do you just trust that it's working?

I don't think so, I have a Momentus Hybrid drive in my MBP.

Firmware monitor files for usage then moves "frequently used files" to flash.
It's a caching algorithm that makes the determination.

The result is faster boot times for apps and the OS.
