I'm not completely sure how I did it, but whenever I play my midi keyboard thru logic, one of the E octave keys doesn't playback an sound and only switches the volume of whatever track i'm playing midi thru. The volume on the channel will adjust randomly anytime I hit the key, all the other keys work fine and sound will come out. This isn't right obviously, if anyone out there could me out I would greatly appreciate it.

I would bet your master keyboard just needs to be reset.

Another reason can be some Logic Controller assignment which is made "by chance" i.e the E key has been learned to volume etc. Try to trash/backup the Logic preference file which will remove all previous controller assignments.

Just be warned: trashing your prefs file means redoing all your prefs (driver settings, delay compensation, file true, etc)... It's not as simple as you think.
