Excuse the stupid question. Took 4 years off and have forgotten a tone of knowledge.

If I have a lot of sessions and want to pick through them for potential audio loops but only want the actual recorded file what is the best way to do this?

I don't see the point on exporting the file as it's already in my bin. I do not wish to go picking through the recorded files location so isn't there another way of dragging and dropping this to a new location on my computer?

I tried to drag straight from the audio bin to my desktop but logic wouldn't allow this, suggestions?

What was called the Bin is now the Project Audio Browser.

The files with disclosure triangles are pointing to the actual audio files. Under them are the regions that appear in the Tracks Area.

Right-click, or control-control on an entry with the disclosure triangle (highlighted in purple), which brings up the Show File in Finder option.
