    Hey there,

i was just wondering if i should see 2 CPU streams or 4 with my i5 processor as its physically 2 cores but virtually 4? logic is only dispalaying two yet other applications show 4..

thanks in advance i appreciate your help!

Realtime applications like Logic can only use physical cores. So 2 core machine that has 4 virtual cores is just a 2 core machine to Logic.

Logic does recognize virtual cores on some of the desktop processors, just not the 2 core laptop processors.

Which Macs allow Logic's CPU meter to show more cores than are physically present?

Thanks, you beat me to it.

I believe the new iMacs are 4 physical core machines, yet they show and use (to a certain extent) 8 cores.

I can post a link to a recent thread on the Apple site if need be.
