Logic Pro 9 Changing audio drivers or buffer

Logician
I have apogee one, GIO, and FirefaceUC.
Whenever I switch between these hardwares in the Audio Drivers prefs, I see the Native Instrts Kontakt samples and some plugins reloading.
Logic used to need a restart when we changed audio drivers in the past.
Is it still doing a restart in the background?
This happens when I change audio buffer size as well.

Have you guys noticed this?

Yes.

In fact Logic didn't always have to restart, in Logic 7 you got an option to reboot or Try relaunch. I found that often the relaunch would work, but still reload samples as you mention.

I presumewhat happens now is a relaunch which works all the time with no reboot . (Touch wood)

Yes, I remember that 'Try Re-Launch' period as well.
Since I have to wait for everything to load again, I find that no-different than re-launch. Just a tad better may be.

In other DAWs like PT and Record, you do not have to wait for anything to reload when you change buffer size. I wonder what is different in logic to load the audio engine again.
