Logic Pro 9 midi events not visable.

i have, in fact, searched for a related thread and looked for a reference to this in the user guide. so does this mean that you're unwilling to help me? i can't imagine that this is a difficult thing to take two minutes to explain.

i started sequencing a click track and i keep doing something that makes the midi note events (blocks in piano roll) disappear even though i can still hear them.

Nobody can help you after such a description. You may be able to change the situation by answering the following questions.

What means: "i started sequencing a click track"?
Are you trying to make a click track and if yes, how do you try to make this track? Writing notes in Logic, playing on a keyboard, sending notes from an application?

What means "i keep doing something that makes the midi note events (blocks in piano roll) disappear"?
Do you see the notes in the piano roll and suddenly they disappear or what? What do you see if you look at them in the score editor?

Or do you hear the metronome and wonder why you don't see the corresponding notes?

Or do you hear the notes while you play them but not afterwards? Do you see a MIDI region on a track?

Or is it the case that you have notes on a track and they play but you cannot see them? Do you see the notes as grey lines in the MIDI region on the track?

i can't imagine that this is a difficult thing to take two minutes to explain.
This is not a supermarket. People need to think about your problem. If you expect any help you should explain the problem as good as you can.

No, nor did I say that. If we weren't willing to help, we would not have bothered replying at all

You could be right, but without knowing anything at all, it is impossible to even guess as to what your problem might be.

i started sequencing a click track and i keep doing something that makes the midi note events (blocks in piano roll) disappear even though i can still hear them.

So what exactly is it that you are doing? Go through it step by step, screenshots or screen capture are often a help, and of course details of your system should not be missing.

oh really? because i thought this was a supermarket.

That doesn't help at all.

Houston,

Mark and Peter are correct. The more info you can include the more targeted a response you will get. Too general a question is almost virtually unanswerable.

But to take a stab in the dark here - not knowing specifically what your problem is due to lack of enough info; try this:

Turn off the link button in your score editor. This will leave the score display as is even when new events are recorded or captured.

If this is the answer to your problem, yes it only took two minutes to answer. But a decade of experience of learning to read between the lines of vague questions. And that's way harder than the answer itself. :)

i figured it out. it was something stupidly simple that i didn't know because the computer DAW thing is new to me. if i was not detailed enough with my question, it's on me. but i think administrator Ostry might want to pull it back a hair with the arrogance.

Well, over the many years in two forums, I think about 500 people said "thank you" to me for helping them, one said that I am a complete idiot and now one says I'm arrogant. Reasonable standard, there is no perfect world.
