Logic Pro 9 L9 play modes

Is anyone using the "play from selected region" play mode in L9? If so, how are you then playing from the beginning of the track when you want to?

I am enjoying the selected region as default.

Alternately, I guess I could use a "play from selected region" key command and keep the play mode normal. Is there a key command for that?

Oh, and can anyone tell me why pressing return twice takes me to the beginning of the cycle (off or on) instead of the beginning of the piece?

Look for a key command called something like Play From Selection in the Key Command window.

Logic has several variations of how to Stop playback, and you can assign the Return button to any Stop function you want. Press alt + k, and search for "Stop"...

thanks Ginger. I changed return to "play from beginning" and and have all of the play modes checked in the play button menu. I'm liking this setup a lot.

shift enter is the default key command for play from selection.

PS: I personally also really like control enter. This plays form the left corner of the currently visible area of the Arrange Window. I particularly like it for when I am working at high zoom levels and want to hear what I am working on with a bit of pre roll. Usually the left corner of the window is a reasonable amount.

They must have changed the defaults in L9- neither of these are working for me. For some reason shift enter is now "Play" only and the other appears to be cntrl shift return

A lot of the defaults were changed in Logic 9; although I don't think these were among them. It of course depends which key command set you are starting from. I am referring to the extended keyboard US layout.
