Logic Pro X Adding mod wheel to existing MIDI track

My favoutrite method is to go Track>Other>New Track With Same Instrument (actually I use a key command...), then record Modulation to that second track, like this: Then edit until it sits right, then merge with the original Region.

Logic Pro X Midi Track Alternatives

I'm using this setting in Preferences>General>Editing This allows me to do this without any further modifier keys:

Logic Pro X Midi Track Alternatives

No, MIDI takes/alternatives can't be quick-swiped like audio takes can. Many tears have been shed on this already. Quickest way is to use the Marquee-tool or -zone, like this:

Logic Pro X Help with record and space bar functions.

With Cycle active, you can play from any point by hitting the period key in the numbers block twice. This actually is the Pause command.

Logic Pro X Midi Track Alternatives

Well, given that Take Folders don't allow for Quick Swipe Comping of MIDI, you should read up on Track Alternatives which at least allow editing of alternatives.

Logic Pro X Midi Track Alternatives

This depends entirely on what you want to achieve. Take Folders are good to manage takes in folders, Track Alternatives are good to manage track alternatives. So which do you want to use ?

Logic Pro X Midi Track Alternatives

You're looking at Take Folders, not Track Alternatives.

I migrated from DP to Logic. Feeling pretty good about it :)

Logic Pro X Purchase logic to run on older Mac OS

I'm pretty much in exactly the same spot as Mark here, 2010 Mac Pro 5.1 with a new, Metal-capable graphics card. Updated to Mojave and Logic 10.5.1ecently. Everything smooth so far except a few free plugins that dropped out. This machine does everything I throw at it. The latest Logic updates...

Logic Pro X Unravelling multi-region project

Not sure I'm getting it. I'd mix everything in the original project, then bounce the segments, leave the original project at that stage and assemble the bounces in a new project. The point of assembling bounces in a new project is that you don't have to deal with shifting automation and/or...

Logic Pro X Unravelling multi-region project

I'd mix the keepers and assemble the mixes in a new project. Mostly because it's quick, easy, transparent and safe. Also because the client *will* ask for that one outtake later.

Logic Pro X Setting Mix-down Volume across songs

Yes. Did you try Loudness-normalizing them like I described ? Takes no time and should bring you 95% there.

Logic Pro X Setting Mix-down Volume across songs

It's just a re-iteration of the age-old audio wisdom that you should spend most of your mix effort in the midrange, since the ear is most sensitive there. Inexperienced mixers often attack highs and lows first and all but forget the midrange. This is also why mixing on Auratones is/was so...

Logic Pro X Setting Mix-down Volume across songs

    - Mix them to taste - Use less reverb than you think you need - Use less bass than you think you need - Careful with the highs - Focus on mids - Focus on mids - Focus on mids - Then, bring all 40 bounced mixes into a new logic project - Select all Regions and go Functions>Normalize Region...

Logic Pro X Recorded Audio & Timing Inconsistencies

I just did a thorough test on this. The setup is Logic 10.4.4 on a 2010 6x3.33GHz MacPro, RME FireFace800 Audio-/MIDI-Interface, Kurzweil PC88 Performance Piano. I tested - External Instrument Plugin (EIP) vs. a normal External MIDI Instrument - MIDI (IAC) vs. Audio (FF800<>PC88) - returning...
