Logic Pro X LPX 10.5.1. and Mojave

Fascinating, and I hope I don't run into it.

Logic Pro X LPX 10.5.1. and Mojave

I was originally gonna say "try a clean install of Mojave", but then I thought... wait; that's probably what they did already, as I don't know if there's even a way to "downgrade" without an erase & install. Anyway— I'm on Mojave w/ 10.5.1 and it's running clean as a whistle. I didn't mean...

Logic Pro X Group Regions (not TRACKS)

Upon further research and some other message board commentary (On TapeOp), it sounds like Logic Pro truly doesn’t have “region groups”, so I have to either find a work-around or probably just use Pro Tools for these projects (since this kind of project requires a lot of this ‘grouping’ work...

Logic Pro X Group Regions (not TRACKS)

I do a lot of stand-up comedy recording/editing/mixing... basically you could look at this like dialog-editing for film/video. Sometimes I get a single stereo room-recording, and other times I'm marrying the board-direct-feed w/ a room-recording. I'm in one of those projects now, and it's...

Logic Pro X Stereo to Two Mono

Yeah — no knocks against Stefano and his app. It's great, and he's wonderful... I just had a very specific workflow, for which V4 and earlier versions were perfect. But I am such a heavy keyboard-shortcut user, and the way the new menus are designed, they're not configurable from the Apple...

Logic Pro X Stereo to Two Mono

That’s cool! I loved DSP-Quattro until the most recent version. I’m not a huge fan of the V5 UI. anyway... glad you solved your need, but I thought it was worth posting for any future users who have similar questions

Logic Pro X Creating SysEx Faders to control Roland RD-700nx Features

No problem! Thank you for your help up to this point: I really only put the heavy detail up here in case future forum users have similar questions. I hope that my eventual success (fingers-crossed that I do actually get all the way to the total solution) can make it easier for others to get...

Logic Pro X Creating SysEx Faders to control Roland RD-700nx Features

Okay — soooo much learned in the last 24 hours. First-off, I was looking at (what is apparently) the WRONG section of the MIDI Imp. Manual for the Roland RD-700nx. That example that I provided (and based this initial troubleshoot upon) was some other Reverb parameter control... and those...

Logic Pro X Creating SysEx Faders to control Roland RD-700nx Features

also... in your screen-shot above— it seems that your SysEx faders are cabled to a non-Multi-instrument object. Is THAT a factor in my trouble? IN my screenshots, you can see I've cabled the faders directly to the Multi-Instrument. That seemed to be the appropriate thing, but if there's a trick...

Logic Pro X Creating SysEx Faders to control Roland RD-700nx Features

Again, thank you so much for helping to clarify! Setting "checksum" back to 'none' removed the SUM from the string, and I was able to then correct my strings to the proper amount of bytes. Here are the screen-shots of my SysEx Sending: Reverb Type: Reverb Time: The trouble is... The...

Logic Pro X Creating SysEx Faders to control Roland RD-700nx Features

AHHHHHh! scratch #1 off of the above list — after finally putting the 11wk old baby down to bed for the night, I've had more than 30 seconds to put towards this trouble-shoot again. I realized that it was a matter of patience after the single click. I kept double clicking (but I swore I...

Logic Pro X Creating SysEx Faders to control Roland RD-700nx Features

This reply seems like it’s ultimately going to be the secret sauce that helps me get there. Thanks Peter! That said, there are two parts that still have me stumped; “Put in your string between F0 and F7 AND DELETE EVERYTHING ELSE” — I was successfully able to delete the unnecessary byte pairs...

Logic Pro X Stereo to Two Mono

This is a 5yr old thread... so I'm guessing the original poster has long-since gotten this figured out (or maybe they're still tediously bouncing each of the hundreds of tracks )... but to the recent poster's follow-up... the best way I can think of to do this in a big batch is in the Project...

Logic Pro X Logic and mixing with analog summing

I’m doing the same thing here: Orion 32+ Out into a Dangerous 2bus+ & 2BusLT... then into my 2-Track recorder. the output faders (as noted above) should appear by default once you route to them. I often put an insert or two on some of them. Were you originally NOT seeing the “output” channels...

Logic Pro X Creating SysEx Faders to control Roland RD-700nx Features

Hey there! I'm savvy on Logic, overall... but have never really gotten suuuuuuuuper deep into the environment's specialized features (using faders / transformers / etc) but I've had some small successes with these lately. One new challenge is that I'm trying to create some objects to control...

In the year 2020 we still don’t have a way to siphon patch names from device?

I’ve been using Logic since 2005, and have owned many hardware synths over the years. I do a lot of virtual instrumen work too, but sometimes, I wanna just compose using external patches... so I have multi instruments established for my synths... they’re all saved into my new song templates...

Logic Pro X better way to edit continuous control data when it's NRPN, not just CC (Prophet 12 Synth)

I never really thought about a MIDI-plug-in for something like this... but that would have been cool. That said, the Sound Tower plugSE plug-in is REALLY GOOD. You end up using Automation lanes to run the knobs of the plug-in... which, in turn, send the NRPN data to the Prophet, and it works...

Logic Pro X better way to edit continuous control data when it's NRPN, not just CC (Prophet 12 Synth)

Okay — this thread has languished for a while, and I had basically given up on solving this... So much great advice was provided here, but yeah— the answer was NOT within Logic, nor the environment. I ended up springing for the Plug-In that acts like a virtual instrument, but really just uses a...

Logic Pro X better way to edit continuous control data when it's NRPN, not just CC (Prophet 12 Synth)

Peter, Again— thanks for the detailed reply. This is still very discouraging. and it makes me want to look into a 3rd party plug-in that supposedly handles all of these control issues through an actual insert option. It's just that the company who makes the plug-in doesn't seem super-robust /...

Logic Pro X better way to edit continuous control data when it's NRPN, not just CC (Prophet 12 Synth)

Thanks Mark... I appreciate the thought on that suggestion, but it doesn't work very well ... given the nature of NRPN messages. When I real-time record my knob-movements... I get these string-of-pearls patterns on the midi cc line... and the line for every CC value is slathered with dots...
