48v Phantom Power

Guys I have only one mic that requires 48v Phantom Power. I use a PreSonus D8 that selects two inputs at a time. If I use all eight pre's for the drums, one of my Shure SM57s is running on the input set that has Phantom Power activated, do I need to worry about hurting the Shure microphone at all or is this something that is OK to allow?

I too have heard dynamic mics (like the Shure SM57) are not bothered by it.

I can assure you that it can and most likely will, if the mic is a standard ribbon mic. I just toasted my one and only ribbon last week. Could hear it dying via the headphones:

brrz, tbzzz, zzsst, bzz, bz, zs, s, ...

Fortunately it was a cheap one and I wasn't very happy with it anyway.
