I am looking to expand my system and need to get a system that caters for at least 8 XLR inputs, currently I use a MOTU ultralite MK3 (firewire only). I am thinking about the MOTU 8pre, but am unsure if it will work with the Ultralite, and wanted to see if anyone has that set up, and if so what issues they might have, like latency etc. I have also been looking at the Focusrite Saffire pro 40 and the the Presonus Firestudio, any thoughts on any of those? For that matter any others in the same sort of price range?
