I have never run a session above 24/48 mainly because of hardware limitations. While the real world benefits of 96K can be dabated I would like to give it a try. So here is my set up
2011 Imac 3.4 ghz I7 16 GB Ram
Logic Studio 9 64 bit
Internal HDD for booting and apps
External FW 800 drive for sessions
External FW 800 drive for samples
(getting a thunderbolt external when available to replace one of the fw 800 drives)
Do you think this would be able to handle an average sized session (20 audio tracks/Some Instrument tracks with VI's/Some pluggins etc) at 96K without any problem. Basically I am wondering what kind of setup people who are recrding and mixing at 96K have and roughly how many audio tracks and VI's they can have together with that setup.
Thanks
