Logic Pro ...a few Settings/Instrument/Library questions

Hi - just coming back to Logic after many years in the Ableton-land, a few questions/confirmations on Settings/Instruments and the Library -

Settings
1. As you audition different Settings, you accumulate unused returns - because (unlike auditioning Instruments), sends contained inside Settings don't go away when you load a new Setting -- also deleting all the sends or even the whole sending channel itself doesn't delete the returns.... Because of this, when auditioning Settings you can really end up with a messy lot of unused returns in the mixer - is this just a bug/feature of auditioning Settings? (vs. auditioning Instruments, where returns are garbage-collected)

Instruments
2. What's the difference between (or intention of) Sampler vs. Quick Sampler in terms of library content? For example, Quick sampler has no "Drum & Percussion", but that's where the individual drums are - which to me seems the opposite of what I'd think, a "Quick sampler" might be all about individual drum samples - anyway, some help on what the structure of the Library is in terms of single drum hits and all the sets/Drum Kit Desgner patches would be really appreciated...
3. I generally prefer to start from scratch; is there a shortcut for loading an instrument patch without all the effects and sends/returns?

Thanks in advance!
B.
