ADA8000 out to pro24 via ADAT issues

I'm going from my MacBook via FireWire to a Pro24.
Then using the out of the of the ADA8000 via ADAT
to the in on the pro24. My issue is that Logic does not seem to
see the ADA8000. Both are synch'd and (according to mix
control and the ADA8000) they know who is the master
and who is the slave. But when I record enable a track
I get pops and clicks like things are not synch'd.
Thoughts?

Sure they are actually sync with some kind of clock, word clock or spdif, master to slave? I would thing the settings for each device have their own app, check that rather than audio midi setup.

Sounds like you clocking is NOT in sync.

Well the focusrite and the ADA8000 are both set to 44....
From what I've read elsewhere there is a good chance that
my unit might be fried (it is from 03) or my cables are bad.

One device needs to be setup as the master, and the other as a slave, using a spdif cable between them (digital out on the master, to digital in on the slave) and the slaves clock must be set to "external clock". Check out "digital clock" in either devices manual for more details.

If you don't do this, you get the noise... it doesn't have anything to do with the unit, I'm pretty sure.

so get this, a friend with w/ a macbook pro running Lion, and Logic 9.1.8 replicated my set-up (with my gear) and got everything running solid. Now I'm thinking that I need to update some stuff.
Kinda weird though.
