Logic Pro 9 adding to logic

One, the UAD solo laptop, is a DSP card that is used to add power to a computer to run proprietary audio plug-ins. The UAD stable of FX are truly outstanding, and range from standard FX (chorus, reverbs, filters FX) to state of the are processors (the upcoming lexicon 224 looks great, the Studer tape deck emulation is a one of a kind products, as well as the huge amount of EQ's, from Neve, SSL, Helios, to name a few). They also cover devices found in most pro studios (1176 compressor, LA-2A compressor, Pultec EQ)...

The Arturia Laboratory is a synth emulation package, that offers models for Prophet 5, Moog Mini and Modular, Jupiter 8, to name a few. the sound that come are basically presets from their main line of synths, and IF you own any of the full products, you can edit their presets, but only if you already own the full version, or plan on buying it in the future. It also comes with a keyboard controller designed to work in conjunction with the synths, allowing for quick editing of things like filter cutoff, resonance, delays, or fx. The use the built in CPU from the computer, unlike the UAD what adds with the card.

The 2 products are completely different from the other, and I would suggest buying both, rather than one or the other, if you can afford it. As for a decision, what do you need most, more synth sounds, or better fx and basic processing.
