I've just bought an 8 Core Mac Pro - I want to add an internal hard drive (1 TB) to use with Logic as the audio drive. I'm looking at Seagate - which specific drive should I get?
Without knowing any better, what I did was look at the my Mac Pro system profiler, there under serial-ATA you will see a drive number
e.g. (in my case) ST3160023AS
I just did a Google search for that and found equivalent Seagates of different sizes and just chose the store that had the best price and looked like it might have reasonable customer service.
In addition to the hard drive capacity you should also take into consideration the speed of the drive (Data Transfer Rate). When recording and playing back several tracks of audio at the same time, the speed is an important factor.🙂
