Advantage on ULN-8 in mixing

Greetings,

I've been working with DAW-only setups most of the time, mixing totally within the software, Logic X in this case.

I wonder what would be a typical setup of utilizing the ULN-8 advantages along with Logic, for instance with DSP processing? Do you use only for mastering or... ?

How do you find the DSP plugins compared with Logic build-in or Waves?
