Logic Pro Applying staff style results in extra part in score

Hi,

I'm transcribing trumpet parts for my band by playing the parts into Logic X on a small MIDI keyboard.

I play them in "normal" pitch and then apply a different staff style to transpose them.

However, when I apply the Bb Trumpet staff style, it adds a semibreve rest in all bars of the trumpet part.

It looks like this:

Any idea why I get the extra rests and how to get rid of them?

You have a 2nd voice in the staff style. Open the trumpet staff style and delete the 2nd voice by highlighting it and pressing delete.

If that is the default Bb trumpet style, then somehow an extra polyphonic voice got added.

Just remove that extra voice. If that isn't the answer please post a screenshot of the staff style

Or, just create a new Bb style by duplicating the default treble style, rename and applying a transpose value of 2.

That was indeed the problem - cause by injudicious pressing of buttons that I didn't understand whilst trying to apply the staff style!
