Is it possible to control the arpeggiator's "Resolution" or "Length" controls via automation? The arp's automation control bar (or whatever it's actually called) says "Ch. 1" and when pressed gives me the options of "Midi control 0-63" or "Midi control 64-127," but none of the choices in those menus says "Resolution" or "Length." Or is it not possible to alter these settings while the arp is running?

Yes. You can not do that using Track Based Automation (TBA) . Instead you can use RBA i.e Control Change messages.
1. Select the Arp object and set its "Ctrl Base" setting (at the bottom) to say CC#12.
Note this is your Control Based CC# - i.e you have to use different CC#(Top to Bottom) for each Arp setting automation. In our scenario CC12 will control the "Direction", CC13 "Vel" etc.
2. Draw or record CC16 to control the "Res" or CC17 to control the "Length".
Note: both parameters use low CC range 0-28 !
