Audio Interface..

Hi all.. This is my first post..

My previous interface was M-Audio Firewire Solo, and now I'm using Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 Bundle..
However, I want to make use of the thunderbolt port..
any intro to midrange Thunderbolt interfaces out there? any recommendations?
2in2out with Thunderbolt capability is enough for me..

Thanks..

There is a whole new line of motu interfaces that work on TB. But none with 2 in 2 out. USB 2 has enough bandwidth for 12 in and 12 out. Why would you want to go to TB for such a low bandwidth setup?

Is there a reason for wanting to use Thunderbolt? Basic USB2 is good for 24 channels in and out. Using Thunderbolt for 2 in and 2 out is like using a 747 transport to pick up a quart of milk.

I don't have thunderbolt on my Mac tower, however the new motu interfaces all are using it.. Honestly I'm not exactly sure of what it was you replied to but NBD.. I'm running a Motu 424 setup with 2 2408MK3's hooked up via. FireWire.. There connected to a Tascam DM-4800 via TDIF as well as the FireWire card in the console for an additional 32 I/O and via SPDIF from the console to an Coax to Lightpipe converter straight into the digital in on the MAC to print my mixes., So all in all or equals 82 I/O digital a bit more than the console can play back, although the extra inputs are great for sending via Auxs&Busses to internal effects inside Logic ...

May i know the interfaces you are using here?
What are the hardware components required for your setup?
Can you please share your system details here?
What are the specifications for the lightpipe converter?

I recently got a Focusrite Clarett 4pre. RTL is about 1.6 ms. My recently retired RME FF 400 was North of 16ms. Drivers are stable, on par with the RME. Data transfer is excellent and it works flawlessly with LPX . Audio quality is as good, if not better than the RME. Focusrite is making 2/4/8 channels between $400-$1000, that make it an option to strongly consider. Oh yeah, 4 additional inputs for additional pres/optical in/MIDI and SPDIF all included.
