Logic Pro 9 automation quick access

The automation quick access feature in Logic 9 has stopped working on my system. I have an Edirol PCR-800 which has been working fine in the past. Recently I purchased a Roland EV-5 expression pedal which I wanted to use to control the wah wah pedal in the pedal board. Logic did not seem to recognize the EV-5 when I plugged it in to the PCR-800 so I went to the PCR editor software provided by Roland and tried to make adjustments so Logic would "see" the pedal. I only clicked on the EV-5 itself trying to make it transfer messages but I was unsuccessful. Not only that but since then Logic has refused to allow automation quick access at all despite the fact that I reset the changes I made to the EV-5 pedal. Somehow I've broke some of the connections between the controller and Logic and I can't seem to get them back. Please help!
