can I use the new software without expanded?

i have a 2882 dsp and my friend just bought a 2882 expanded. he has a different mio console than me, it seems to be more built around the mixer. my question is, can I use the new mixer set up without an expanded 2882? should I download the latest drivers for the 2882 or should I stick with my old one until I upgrade to expanded?

You need a 2d card to use the v5 mixer in MIO Console.

We recommend that you always use the latest software, since there are bugfixes that apply to Legacy boxes as well as 2d Expanded.
