Logic Pro 9 Can L9 work alongside L8?

I need to swap files with clients who are still on L8, but am keen to try L9 asap. Can I install it, yet work on L8 projects, keeping them in L8 where necessary? Is everything stored in the same places?

Yes you can have both installed at the same time (thought not use them at the same time).

Projects of L9 opened back in L8 will give a warning message, saying this project has been made with a more recent version of logic, some fetures may not work ... please upgrade asap etc ...

If you stick with using the old features and no new of L9, these projets will work just fine back on L8.
