Logic Pro 9 Can Logic mixer send MIDI?

Hello, all -
Is it possible to have channel strips in the Logic mixer send MIDI? That is, to have the various controls (pan, fader, etc) send MIDI when they are adjusted?

I have used MIDI Learn mode to set up an external MIDI hardware controller to control Logic's mixer, but can't yet achieve communication in the other direction. Namely, if I change the parameters on Logic's screen (or just recall a project), I would like Logic to send those parameters out as MIDI to the controller also. Only an "External MIDI" mixer fader ("channel strip" in the Inspector window) can send out MIDI to external gear. Mixer faders for Audio Tracks and Instrument Tracks can't. The mixer reflects the channels used by the tracks in the Arrange window, so if you need mixer faders that send out MIDI you would have to first click the little + icon on top of the Arrange window's track name column and chose to create some new tracks of the type "External MIDI". That will also create corresponding mixer faders.

Thank you for the reply, Per...Those sorts of External MIDI faders won't help in my case, as I wish to keep the regular Channel Strip (audio and instrument tracks) synchronized with those on the control surface. That works in one direction -- using the hardware controller causes the expected movements in Logic -- but not vice versa.

How is that that hardware controllers supported by Logic do indeed have bidirectional communication of faders etc? I had hoped since those controllers allow two-way synchronizing, that one could set up the same functionality manually for the unsupported ones...
