Logic Pro 9 Can't find 3rd party plugins

I downloaded some free 3rd party plugins and installed them in logic. I have them installed correctly and I can use them on any channel. The problem is I don't see components in the plugin list anymore. I had about 13 components installed in the plugins list. I used to see them at some time but now when i go to plugin folder it's completely blank. What's going? As I stated earlier I can still use them with no problem on all channel strips...click an insert, scroll down to AU units, see all the free plugins, select one, and bam it's there. Working as it should. I can't find the components for each plugin in my plugin folder anymore.

What's the problem?

Am I missing something? First you say you don't see them in the list, then you say you can "click an insert, scroll down to AU units, see all the free plugins, select one, and bam it's there."

Hi Pete,

I see the plugins from the insert on the channel strip. I'm talking the components that you install in the plugin folder when you initially set up the plugin.

Like if you were going to install a new plugin into logic.
1 library folder
2 audio folder
3 plugins folder......all listed AU unit plugins. NOTHING THERE!

Logic doesn't need to be open to access this.

Have you checked the system library/audio/plugins AND you user library/audio/plugins. They could be in either of those depending on how they got installed.

You know there are 2 paths for plugins:
Yourdrive/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
and also
Yourdrive/Users/yourname/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

Did you look in both places?

If they are working in Logic, the plugins (= components) are there.

Did you perhaps upgrade to Lion? In that case, the Library folder has been made invisible and that may be why you're not finding stuff.
