In one sense we already have that, since it just takes a glance to note what track the channel strip is fronting. But of course it is nice with a little color! Might bring some problems though, since channel strip doesn't really equal track type. A related, and IMHO more urgent need, is to make channel strips compatible across track types. Example: I have created the most wonderful channel strip for an acoustic flute. This is an audio track channel strip. Now I want to use that strip with an Indian flute sampled in the EXS24. Today that's not possible, I will have to rebuild the thing in the mixer by lifting over each plug-in manually. But that is not a good solution because when using my channel strips in Mainstage a great deal of the channel strip has to do with what real-time performance midi events are assigned to dynamic functions in the plug-ins. All this gets lost if lifting over plug-ins manually in the Logic mixer. Better would be to simply be able to open any channel strip for any track type and in case of using Mainstage already set screen control bindings should snap to the plug-in parameters (not the way Mainstage is working today)
