Cheap Audio converter for Mac/Lion?

Now that I'm in Lion, my little mp3 maker, "Switch" no longer works. I bought an app from the app store called "Pro Audio Converter" which is fine but I miss the ability to normalize files. This is used primarily for down and dirty mp3 making to email clients works in progress. I don't always normalize my rough mixes in Logic so have gotten used to using "Switch" as it's a one stop converting/exporting thing. I still have plenty of ways to do this but wanted the quick option still. Any ideas?

I used to use Peak for this kind of stuff. I'm not sure if the "baby" version will do it, but I have used the batch function for this kind of thing in the past.

The cheapest version of Peak is about $50 I believe. You can download the demo to see if it works as required. plus, it's an awesome 2 track editor, great for down and dirty tops and tails cleanups, normalization, pencil editing of the waveform, etc. can't beat it.

Yeah, I've used Peak for 15 years or so. Switch is nice as you just drag the stuff into it and press process. I'm investigating things on the app store and beyond right now "for fun." I'd like to be able to normalize and to save to the same folder as the source (2 things switch does easily).

Hey Daveyboy,

you do know that Switch works fine in 10.7 right?
Cool. I actually downloaded what I thought was the latest version and installed it last week but would get an error message. I just now found a different page with all the versions as downloads and downloaded that one. Version 4x. I was running version 1x!...oops. On to the next upgrade. thx.

I'm running the new "free" version of switch again, but as it turns out, some of the old standard features are now a paid upgrade (like normalization). So, that's fine with me. It's a great app and I've certainly gotten a lot of use out of it through out the years.
