Logic Pro 9 Clearing embedded tempo in imported Wave file.

I just ran into this issue this week. I had to import a wave file someone gave me done in DP. I went to use flex audio on it and the file immediately sped up "automatically." So, I went to the options menu to clear the tempo info on it and tried again. No luck there. I ended up having to bounce it in place. The new file was the correct tempo and I was able to get to work. Anyone else run into this?

I have an app I use for audio file type changing, XLD. I'd use that to change the file type, and while doing this strip out the tempo info.

It's free, and great quality, many format types, and is super fast.
