Combo Remapper- Answer to VST Expressions?

It looks like the amazing Pete Thomas invention is on the right track.

Cubase has integrated a very cool and fairly easy system of defining articulations that can be added in any of it's MIDI editors. Hopefully Apple is taking notes (No pun intended 😉).

I started off with MOTU's MSI because I have it, it's easy to set up key switching, and has just enough articulations to work with.

Setting up the key switches in C.R. was easy enough, but it took me a while to figure out that I had to double click each text box on the far left to assign the desired label: Marc, Pizz, Sus, etc to Text 1, Text 2, etc.

These text labels entered in score were also visible in the Event list. Setting the number value to the respective Text label put it all together. MSI responded accordingly.

I still need to get a handle on how to set up the symbols as the number value in the Event list didn't to correspond to the symbols I entered referencing the PDF instructions. User error no doubt at play here. So any points of clarification would be appreciated.

Combo Remapper is very cool and will get much use here once I've mastered it.

Cheers.

I must have missed this post last month!

Thanks very much for the kind words, I hope you master it soon! It shouldn't take long, but keep me informed of any issues.

Thanks Pete!

It's seem that my attention to detail always gets thrown off by the excitement of testing out a new studio toy.

All the information that I needed was always right there in the supplied PDF and on-line video tutorials. Or so I realized a couple of days later.

Again, this is an ingenious and easy solution to setting up more expressive MIDI performances in the Logic Score editor.

Best regards.
