Logic Pro 8 Contiguous Files for export

Our studio used Nuendo Logic and I'm trying to get some files into nuendo that would be contiguous files starting at zero and ending at the end of the song.

In Nuendo or Pro tools we can consolidate the regions and avoid doing any exports. I'm looking for the quickest easiest way to do this. I want to avoid the fader and plugins and just export the files if possible. That way I can just have the raw recorded files and pop them into nuendo at zero.

Can anyone help with this?

Select the files in the Audio Bin and choose "Copy/Convert File(s)" from the Edit menu there. This lets you save the files with new names. One by one or more at once. For individual names, one by one is the way to go.

If you have regions on a track, merge them first (digital mixdown). This will produce a new file.

If you want to get files with a specific length, put a piece of silent audio at the start and at the end and merge all regions of the track.

We do this all the time for Pro Tools. Export Tracks as AUdio Files - you can do teh whole song at once. Bypass plugins you do not want exported, FAder and Pan are ignore.

Yes the "export all tracks as audio" works best for this. If I have to go from one DAW to the other, that's how I do it. Don't forget to bypass any plug-ins that are in inserts IF you don't want your tracks to be exported with EQ, compression, whatever is active in your insert for a track.

So in regard to George's explanation, am I correct in assuming that export will actually be going through the faders? That's a bit of a bear time wise for a song that's mixed. Plus at least in most DAW's going through the fader means your not getting the files exactly the way it was record.

So if I do it that way I need to bybass all plug's, EQ, automation, and return the fader to zero?

Is there any other way? Maybe there is way similar to how I do this in Nuendo and PT. In either app you can select a time range on all you tracks. You press a button it essentially makes one long file on each of the tracks. Where there are regions they stay, where there is no regions it writes silence. At that point time in both apps you can select all the files that are on tracks in the pool or regions bin and export them to a different folder. No faders, plugs or exporting involved just copying files from one location to another.

I'm hoping there is a way to do something like this in logic. If not we'll make it work.

Geese I'm just realizing that Peter's explanation is probably exactly what I'm talking about in my last post and George's explanation is more of export through faders.

Is my assumption right?

No. My explanations are generally complicated (to sound more important) but they work in almost all cases. Gareth's and George's suggestions are generally better but assume that you know what you are doing.

You can choose either method, according to Dr. Murphy your choice will be wrong in 5 cases out of 6. But it's only a computer, you can always tame it physically:
