Logic Pro Converting old projects to core audio

I'm currently organising some old projects that I originally thought were done when I was using Protools. I'm not getting Logic offering to convert and the only way I can find to convert is delete channel strips and create new ones, even for EXS24 and other Software Instruments.

Has anyone successfully found a more straightforward way to do this.

I was wrong, I don't think these are from Protools as the files are AIF and some are joined stereo (not L & R SD2), I think they must be for Logic Windows.

But none of the channel stripes have an in or out, (greyed out) so no sound.

Does anyone know what this could be. I can see the plugins are either UAD or TD+C, so maybe back then there was a UAD PCI card ???

It is a really long time ago, but Logic could convert projects back when it had the option to run more than one driver at the same time, so you could run four tracks on DAE and another 32 on the Audiowerk. Since Logic Pro X this does not work anymore and there is no conversion.

Ah well thanks (although it's bad news!)

This explains why @Markdvc mentioned the "offer " to convert to core audio in Logic when he very kindly did some really old Audiowerk projects on (I think) Logic 7.

So now not only do I have to convert SD2 in in some cases, but also channel strips.

Pete, a possibility could be, those projects were created with universal track mode off - that could very well mean a conversion to core audio isn't going to work. All you get then is the positioning of the regions (vitally important i itself) but you have a lot of spade work to do creating new core audio channel strips, moving all the regions, creating new plugins, then finally clearing up, ditching all the old channel strips etc etc.

More of a job for a long winter evening....

kind regards

Mark

This is what I’ve now realised and accepted.
At least yes, the regions are still there. So all I’ve list are the mix levels and plugins. And of course the hardware synths I no longer have (but one or two of which I did sample)

At least I have worked out a way to convert SD2 to wav.

The only issue now is if someone wants a remix, I will need to tell them it is never going to be just tweak, it will likely be quite different.
