Logic Pro 9 CPU usage

Fighting with CPU redlining.

Opened a new project. Basically a bass instrument, gtr instrument - not loaded up with effects. evb3 Hammond sim also.

I opened a multiple tracked BFD2 session with 7 mono tracs and 3 stereo tracks. Loaded a bfd2 kit and played a bit onthe keyboard, nothing too complicated. Just testing to figure BFd2 out.

CPU immediately redlines. Any ideas.

Just for clarification the I use a Mac Mini -2009 2.4ghz, 8gbRam - so should ave decent horsepower.

What is you I/O buffer size?

Logic Preferences>Audio>General....

If it's low, raise it.

It's a balancing act:
Low I/O for tracking reduces latency at the expense of cpu stress;
High I/O for mixing which reduces cpu stress but increases latency if recording.

Thanks-zipped it up to 1024 (from 128) and the redline want away- not sure who set it that low(the dog did it I bet). We'll see if latency Usa prob.
