Logic Pro 8 Crazy Delay

What's up, I'm running a new iMac with a New M-audio ProFire 26/26 and there is just a crazy delay while recording I've adjusted the buffer size,latency,
and all the other settings related to delay while recording. It is totally messing with me while trying to put down tracks. Any ideas???

I assume you talk about audio recording. Monitoring through a computer and a sequencer software is a long way for the sound to travel. If you cannot work with this latency then use the direct monitoring option of your interface.

Do you have any (latency inducing) plug ins anywhere in your signal chain? Maybe an Ad Limiter on the main outputs? Anything like that will cause the problem you are describing.
