Logic Pro 9 Crossfade issue

Is there a way to set up crossfades so that it automatically trims the two clips I am joining together. I find it frustrating to have to manually trim the two clips to exactly fit together before crossfading. Thanks for any help

Have you tried changing the Drag mode (top right corner, next to Snap modes) to X-Fade? When you drag a region over another, it will automatically crossfade the regions.

Not sure why this is an issue.

1) Make sure your tracks audio has extra room on each side of the crossfade (doesn't matter how much really.

2) Grab the crossfade tool, click and hold down the mouse when you are over the area you want to cross fade and move from left to right over the area you want to do the fade and release mouse.

3) In the inspector area you will be able to see the crossfade info: how long is the fade on each side, and the fade curve. Adjust to taste.

Simple, no extra editing required.

You can also hold down the Control and Shift keys simultaneously while dragging your mouse to insert crossfades. This works with any tool.
