I have a question regarding EQs in the mastering signal chain. I have heard that when mastering digitally, it is best to split up the equalization, to first have a linear phase low band EQ followed by a linear phase broadband EQ. I was wondering if anyone knew the following:
why the low band EQ comes before the broadband EQ?
why the EQs should be split up instead of all in one?
thanks
