Logic Pro Efficient way to copy and paste in Logic

H folks.
Let's say you have an oboe region and you want to copy it over a clarinet region which already has data in it. I tried to do it and it erased the old region that was in clarinet track. Am I doing something wrong?

This depends on your Drag Mode. If it's set to No Overlap, the old content will be replaced.

However, I strongly suggest you do not overlap Regions, as it may be confusing when shorter Regions are completely hidden by longer Regions, but play nonetheless. If you have two Regions that play at the same time, place them on two Tracks feeding the same Instrument Channel. You create this second Track by selecting Track>Other>New Track With Same Instrument.

The only thing I don't understand is what you said about " shorter ranges hidden by longer regions". 🙁

I mean, when you merge 2 regions together, you will not see both data in one track? How can it be hidden?

So this means you cannot see the short region in the editors? piano roll or score? Because if you can then I will be fine. I will try it today,but anyway thanks for the explanation! I really appreciate it!

You can see its contents in the Editors, but if you can't see the Region itself, it might not occur to you that it is there at all.
