Logic Pro 9 Erratic tempo from external MIDI

Hi folks,

I am trying to sync Logic with an Electribe ES1 and ER1.

At first glance it appears to be working fine. For example, pressing play on Logic starts the external device playing and adjusting the tempo in Logic seems to be matched externally.
However, when I try to record, the external devices will sometimes not start at the same time as Logic, leaving everything out of sync, or will play with wavering tempo.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this and have any idea if it can be fixed?

It's been a little while since I've had one going but some more basic external (hardware) sequencers have issues with the clock starting mid-bar. Do your issues still manifest themselves when starting on the bar?

Yes, it seems to be pretty random, even when taking the SPL back to the beginning. Sometimes plays in time and sometimes doesn't.

Just a shot in the dark here, but what happens if you try different frame rate settings in Logic? It _shouldn't_ make a difference, but, well... you never know......

Unfortunately the frame rate doesn't seem to be affecting it.
