Logic Pro 7 & earlier error code 8 returned by ASIO driver

I am using Logic 5.5.1 on Windows XP Professional and get this error message "Error code 8 was returned by ASIO driver". Usually I have to reboot Logic a few times to have it go away. I wonder what causes it and how to get rid of it, if possible. Also, I've read on few posts that Logic 5.3 is runnign well on laptops as opposed to 5.5.1 version. Can I download it? Cheers.
