Euphonix MC Transport issue - jog wheel

Hi,

I've spent a few hours, searching and reading and still not having any luck: I just bought the MC Transport and I'm using it with an MC Mix on a MacBookPro, running Logic Pro 9. The MC Mix works great but I cannot for the life of me get the jog wheel to behave the way I want it to. I simply want to jog through the timeline at a variable speed, in addition to using it for scrubbing and moving regions, just like the beautiful video on the Euphonix website. However, when I select the soft key that is preset as Jog and turn the wheel, all it does it jump me to the end of my song and then It wont go back. I set up the preferences in Logic for the jog to "Jog resolution depends on horizontal zoom". And then I have about the same response when I zoom. I get only 2 levels. It basically performs very erratically. How in the world do I set this up to jog smoothly back and forth in the timeline? Thanks for any help.

I had similar issues a while back. I'm not quite certain of the root issue but I believe it was permissions related. To trouble shoot it, set up a new account and try it there, my guess is it will work as you expect it to under that account. It did for me so i knew that it was account related. In the end I decided it was time for a fresh install of Snow Leopard and that cleaned it up for me. You might try checking your permissions on the Eucon preferences files. Probably a good idea to runa permissions check as well I hope that helps.

Hi, for a precision job (or jog), go in Logic shortcut's and add 2 shortcuts for move 1 frame forward and move 1 frame backward. Then in the Eucon software program a jog function with those 2 shortcuts, after that assign it to a softkey (with repeat as fast as possible).
So at least you'll have a softkey that permits you to move very smoothly in the timeline with the jog wheel.

Just registered to help you with your problem, seems like a nice forum.
