Logic Pro Export all tracks....weirdness

LogicJam

A perplexing issue....or a glitch?
Trying to export tracks, as I have done many times.
Have saved tracks to logic....all good
Got tracks highlighted, went to "Export all tracks as audio files"
then...the dialog box won't let me choose either Package or Folder, as is the usual case.

It has all the wav choices, Save format, bit depth, etc.
In other words....it doesn't give a path as to where the exported tracks are to go.
Have I hit some sort of setting?
I saved and restarted comp.....no change.

Thx for any help.

Hey, thx CSeye.
I think my brain just wasn't functioning that day....mixing up the Save function with Export.
So, yes I see the New folder option.
Save, or Save-as is the function that gives a choice of Folder or Package. Not Export.
So saving a tune to a folder with it's own name gives the Export function a named place for all the wav files to go. (on the HD)
Logical. They say.

btw. question: Why does Logic save the exported wav files to the Users/Music/Logic folder on the HD, instead of the file list within Logic? It seems there two parallel lists of tunes, one within Logic , and one on the HD.
It's ok, I can find everything....but it seems weird, maybe unnessesary.
All good.
thx
Bud

In this day and age we're subjected to unbelievable levels of information overload, every day.😕
That's my story...

To answer you question in general terms, Save As and the Bounce functions keep the content within the Logic Project (package or folder). Export is for moving content external to the project as in creating stems to be mixed in ProTools or sent to a collaborator using a different DAW.
