Logic Pro 9 Expression Pedal Works Backwards!

Hi there,
Hope someone can help.
I have an expression pedal plugged into the back of my midi controller but for some strange reason it makes the virtual piano sustain when my foot is off the pedal and it stops sustaining when I press it down.
I tried reversing the wires in the pedal thinking that it may be polarity but no change!
Can anyone suggest a fix for this please?

Some pedals have a switch on the bottom but I assume yours doesn't. When you press it what is the data it's outputting? You can see it in Logic's transport.

You're right, there is no switch on the bottom.
Hence my opening it up and resoldering the connections...

It shows on the the transport bar as 1 64 127(-0)

the last reading is obviously the range of the pedal between 0-127

It looks like a sustain pedal or one which is set to behave as sustain cause CC#64 is the sustain Controller #.
You can patch a transformer between the Physical Input & the Sequencer in the Click & Ports Environment layer and set it as shown in the image below to transform CC64 to CC11 (Expression) if you are looking for that. Right now I'm posting from my PC laptop having a former Logic 5 but the environment is same as L8/9 so it will do. Use the 2nd "Reverse" operation if need to reverse the pedal range as shown.

In my case, my expression pedal is plugged into my yamaha s-80 keyboard. The input there is configurable to output whatever midi data I want ( in this case 11, expression). I think you have your pedal plugged into the sustain pedal input. Check that out as logic should read that you're getting controller 11 and not 64.
