Logic Pro 8 EXS SAMPLER

HI there, welcome to the LUG.

Latch Mode is a form of automation, if you wish to use it on a channel strip with the EXS 24, you need to switch automation on that channel strip to latch mode.

If I understand your question .... it's a little vague.

kind regards

Mark

I think maybe you are looking for the one shot mode. So that when you take your finger off the key, the sample continues playing; is that correct?

If so, go into the EXS editor, and toggle the one shot setting.

For real "latch" type control, check out Touch Tracks in the Environment.

Thanks guys for the reply.
I'm trying to emulate an on/off note function.
When I'm pressing the note once I want the loop to continue, when I press the note again I want it to stop.
A similar option exsist on the Roland spds percussion pad.

Best wishes

EXS 24 on it's own doesn't quite do this. You might be able to set up some clever routing in the EXS 24 editor where one note is assigned to a different group that will cut off the note playing a looped sample.

But Touch Tracks is more dedicated to this type of thing.

using touch tracks

Ive tried using the touch tracks. for some reason I cant hear the loops once I assign them to the table. I have followed a detailed tutorial on the net step by step and no luck

Load the loops into the EXS 24 first; and set the loop start and end points in the EXS editor so the loops can continue looping smoothly. Then do up a MIDI region containing the one trigger note to trigger the EXS 24. And then assign that MIDI region in the Touch Tracks window.

I have done all these things. The lop appers on the touch track window. I have muted the original track the seq is runing, its triggering the right note.
Maybe the problem is in the defult set up in one of the enviorment windows

I'll try and test it out on my system and see if I can get it working. I'm not sure if I'll have a chance to do it today, but will get back to you with some results once I've checked it out.

I sorta' kinda' got it working. I tried it with a four bar loop and the only problem is that if I toggle the loop off, it seems like the TT object wants to wait until the next time the beginning of the four bars comes around until the loop is able to be triggered again.

If you want, I can email you the project.
