Logic Studio apps EXS24 Sample Editor is greyed-out..

Hi all, I've just joined this forum - finally something in Mainstage 2 has got me bamboozled! When I go to my own EXS24 instrument, click on 'edit' and then control-click the 'loop point' to open Sample Editor, it is ALWAYS greyed-out. This happens on any type of sample, any patch, and my own .wav samples created in Logic 9.
Can anyone please list or send me a link to list of ALL the possible reasons why Sample Editor might be inaccessible from EXS24 edit page??? HELP!
 
Thanks Atlas. Doesn't resolve my problem in Mainstage...workarounds in your link seem to work in Logic - means I have to open Logic to edit EXS samples.
If anyone can explain why sample editor (exs24) won't open in Mainstage I'd appreciate it. Cheers.
 
There is only one reason to concern yourself with....MainStage doesn't have the sampler editor included in its version of the EXS24. I'm not sure why Apple chose to do that, but there you have it. You do need to go into logic to edit this stuff........
 
Aha! Thank you Doug. What's really dumb is there was nothing - that I could find - in the manual to that effect. At last I can stop scratching my head!! Cheers.
 
I agree that the manual should mention it. The fact that it doesn't is typical of manuals. They never get all the info you need in them. But if they did, we'd have not nearly as much use for this fine forum nor for 3rd party tutorial series, something that I can make a few $$ in. 😉
