Logic Pro 9 External eq & i/o plugin

I recently acquired a Clariphonic eq and am about to start using it. Here's what I want to accomplish:

I want to add the eq to other plugins on an audio channel via the i/o plugin, bounce the track and add the resulting file to a new track.

I've read many nightmare scenarios about the difficulties of working with the i/o plug, it's failure to successfully account for latency, advice to run the plug on a bus/on an aux/on the original audio channel, have ADC set to All, Have ADC set to something else...you name it.

Given what I'm looking to do, could the answer possibly be as simple as put the plug on the audio channel, ping, bounce, import onto a new track and get on with my life?

Thanks so much,

Jim

Exactly.
Bounce in realtime (not offline) as always with an I/O plugin.

Even better:
Don't bounce. Send the channel to a bus, select this bus as input for a new audio track and record directly.
