External HD / Firewire question

Hi all, I'm planning to get an external FW OWC drive to record audio to. I'm running Logic 8 on a 2.4 C2D Macbook that only has FW400. I'm running a Duet which is also FW400. Is there any reason at all to get the quad-interface drive?

I plan to daisy-chain macbook to drive to duet. Should be fine, right? Thanks.
 
Daisy chaining them will work fine, and the only reason to get the quad interface drive would be if you're planning on upgrading your computer anytime soon. If not, save the dollars because you'll only use FW400 for your current setup.
