Hello Folks,

First question...

How do I convert stereo files to mono? Can't find it in the manual.

Take a stereo channelstrip, insert a Gain Plugin and switch it to mono.
Or route the stereo channelstrip to a mono channelstrip.
Or route the stereo channelstrip to a bus, create a new audio mono channelstrip and record from the bus to get a mono file.

Yes that works for playback but I don't want or need the original file to be in stereo taking up more than 160Mb's of space (24bit/96000) on my HD. Is there no way to destructively convert the file to mono?

Peter,

You are absolutely right. The gain plugin switched to mono then "bounce in place" to a new track worked.
