Logic Pro For those who think Logic X is just too dark.

For all of you that think logic x is just too dark to do any work in i have made this.

You can make your logic like this too using these steps.

1 - download the zip from this link https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14076826/Alternative logic color scheme by Kim Olesen.zip

2 - Go to your applications folder in the finder. Find the logic app. Rightclick on it. Choose "show contents of package"

3 - follow the following path:

- Contents
-- Frameworks
--- MAResources.framework
---- Versions
----- A

4 - In the A folder there is a folder called Resources. Back the Resources folder up somewhere else on your harddisc.

5 - Replace the Resources folder with the Resources folder you have downloaded. That's it. Now logic looks like the picture.

If you decide to go back you can always put the original Resources folder back.

Now why did i make this? Because on a sunny day LX looks like this, which makes it impossible for me to work in:

Great work Kim... I have the same problem, plus when I'm on battery I run out of gas much sooner on X just because I have to put luminosity full on to see anything. Now if I want different colors, how should I do ? I'd like to make Logic X mixer look more like 9 (lighter grey).

I suppose that the palette with 98 user-configurable colors is gone forever ?

There is a huge thread on Gearslutz explaining this. The palette is gone sadly.

Kim: excellent! thanks for taking the time to share this with us.
I'm having a problem with the 'Read' and 'Solo' buttons on each channel strip. The colour of 'ON' doesn't jump out at me compared with the 'OFF'. which bit of the Resource settings should i adjust?
I've just begun leaning how to edit the resources file, but I can't find the bright yellow I would like

Are you using my theme? It looks like this here:

If you are asking how to mod those i don't know. Those are picture files and not related to the MAResourcesMapping.plist. And apart from the orange border around the active window all my editing is done in the MAResourcesMapping.plist

Hi Pete. I didn't do any oh that in my mod (except the orange border showing the active window) so i'm at a loss on this. BUT there is a HUGE thread on Gearslutz on how to do it.

Great it has helped you. I'm happy for that 🙂

some good tips there as well. nice to know how to change just a few simple things. some of those themes are.. uh, very personal choices if i'm being kind. but i guess someone has to forge the path until apple decide to include some alternate skins like other DAW developers.

Update to Logic X skin?

Hi,

I tried to use the lighter skin, but Logic X 10.0.6 would not open with your Resources folder.

I wonder if you have done a new one since the 10.0.6 update? I'm on Mavericks.

Thanks for what seems a great improvement over the LX 'Dark City' - what I call the sleepy look lol

Thanks Kim, I just tried that, but as before no luck getting Logic to open. The icon changes to the graphics thingy with the pencil etc. Clicking it, it looks like it expands ready to open, but then it's just in Finder, not Logic open...

Although personally I don't mind the colours in the studio, when out and about with my laptop it would be great to be able to change them, I'm not really after ultimate customisation but a few different options would be great (I've sent my feedback in.) on an associated point has anyone had a chance to try out any screen glare reduction stuff for a 15" MBP retina?
