Logic Pro 9 Help using on-board sounds with logic 9

Hello,
So I have an old Sequential Circuits Prophet 600 (makes me feel old 🙁 ). I want to use the on-board preset sounds in logic, but I could only get the 600 to use the logic sounds. How to I get it to send its own sounds to logic to record? Is this even possible?

FYI, i have the m-audio Uno midi interface.

1. Download the PDF version of the Logic manual here: http://www.apple.com/logicpro/resources/
Click on Logic Pro 9 User Manual (the first item listed under Documentation to the right) which opens up the PDF version. Click on the floppy disc icon on the upper left of the PDF to save this to your desktop or Documents folder.

Click on the first listed item in the PDF which is... Logic Pro 9 User Manual. This is a more detailed reference than what's available in Logic's Help menu. In the "Working with Instruments and Effects chapter is a section "Working with Instruments" and subsection on "Processing External MIDI Instruments with Effects". Read through this as it will answer many questions that you may have. The "Processing External MIDI ...." section explains how to bring external sound module into Logic in a different way then demonstrated in the Wiki video.

See if you can locate a PDF or text patch list for your device, otherwise you'll need to recreate one as indicated in the above references.

If you intend to bring sound from you Prophet into Logic, you should consider obtaining an audio interface (which is different from a MIDI interface)...

Sounds like you are using the wrong track type.

Logic has three track types audio, software instrument, and midi.

To get the audio from the prophet you will have to connect the audio out, to your audio interface, along with the midi connections.
