Logic Pro 9 Horizontal text/symbol alignment

Please forgive this novice question! I've only been using this program for 20 years. Please someone tell me how to align text and symbols horizontally. I know how to align text vertically. I thought it was "snap to grid" position but I can't find out how to do it. I want to input note names vertically underneath chords for a pupil who has difficulty reading staff notation.

I would use the lyric function for that. Drag the "LYRIC" icon from the partbox under the first note, input the note name, then Tab to the next note and repeat. For added fine-tuning, any note-name you select can be adjusted horizontally and vertically in the parameter box above the partbox. HTH

Christopher, if you've inserted all the note names as Lyrics as described and then you want to move them en masse to (for example) the right, you can select one, then in the Edit menu use Select Similar Events. Then you can adjust all your "lyrics" at once. (If you do want to move them to the right, BTW you can only go up to zero, you can't make them later than the note head, but you can make them precede the note head with negative values)

This is a screen shot of the Key commands window when I search "Align Object Positions Horizontally". Clearly I am being thick.

Just try typing in "Align" in the Search window - you'll see it quick enough in the Score menu to the left. BTW that link only works on your computer. I don't know how to post pictures here either, maybe someone else can clue us in...

Sorry to trouble you again. Where is the full list of available commands? Following your slightly cryptic try "Align Object Positions Horizontally" I eventually found that the second ".align" in the command score window was exactly that and assigned ^H to it. Hooray- it works. Thanks. BUT I WOULDN'T HAVE KNOW THE PHRASE TO SEARCH IF YOU HADN'T SUGGESTED IT. What am I missing?
