Logic Pro 9 How can I copy the Comp track?

Andre Favreau

I have a problem with Comping. Hopefully someone can help me.

I recorded my Ac. Guit. on 3 tracks (2 mics and a DI) and did many takes. In oder to comp them in sync, I phased-Locked them in group settings.

However, once my comp was done, for some reason, I noticed the DI track didn't follow.

So know I would like the DI track to copy the comp from my 2 mic tracks. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks

Andre

I don't think there is any way to copy a comp.

It's possible that if you grouped everything correctly you could redo the working comp one edit at a time - click onto bad take, re-click onto desired take, and that DI take folder would pick up the edits. Another idea or two as well, but I don't think you will have a one click fix on this. Save project before attempting......

I better understand the problem now.

The DI track is not copying the edits with the two other tracks for some reason. I don't know why. They are all in the same Group with "Editing" and "Phase-Locked Audio" selected. The tracks also start and end on the same tick.

Why is my DI track not making the same Edits?

If your grouping is done correctly, it should work. I've no idea why not unless it's a corrupt project. Consider importing it into a new project and see if there is still a problem.

Perhaps someone else can chime one with an answer?

I tried it in another project and still doesn't work

So, to confirm, you imported the tracks into a new empty project, preferably one of Logic's templates, and the tracks still don't want to share edits when grouped....

Yes!

But I used a different template of mine. I don't think the template is a problem, I've used it in other sessions with the same recording/editing technique without any problems.

Thanks for your help

Welcome for (not really any) help, sorry you still have the problem....

It's still possible your template is corrupt, especially if you haven't used it since this project.

If you ever want to put your project up on Dropbox or the equivalent, I'd take a look at it.
